Join Cardinal George and Catholics of the Archdiocese of Chicago in accepting the invitation of the Muslim community at the 2010 Interfaith Iftar Dinner, held at the Islamic Community Center of Des Plaines, 480 Potter Road in Des Plaines.

Chicago Catholic Campaign for Human Development Awards Event

Twenty-one organizations in Chicago and the suburbs that are recipients of 2010 grants from the annual Catholic Campaign for Human Development collection, will be honored for their work in “breaking the cycle of poverty” during this awards event at St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish, 1351 West Evergreen in Chicago. Most Rev. Francis J. Kane, Auxiliary Bishop of Chicago, will be the main celebrant at a Mass preceding the awards dinner. During the ceremony that follows, Rev. James Moriarty, founder of the Chicago CCHD, will receive special recognition.  Rev. Francis “Rocky” Hoffman, of Relevant Radio, will be the host for the evening.

75TH ANNIVERSARY MASS - SANTA MARIA DEL POPOLO
Francis Cardinal George, OMI, Archbishop of Chicago, will be the main celebrant at a Mass with parishioners of Santa Maria Del Popolo Parish, 116 North Lake Street in Mundelein, to celebrate the parish’s 75th anniversary.

ARCHDIOCESAN CELEBRATION OF LIFE MASS
Cardinal George will be the main celebrant at a Mass during which parish respect life coordinators and committee members will receive a blessing and be commissioned for another year of pro-life ministry in their parishes.  This event, which includes a reception with Cardinal George, will take place at St. Celestine Parish, 3020 North 76th Court in Elmwood Park.

ANNUAL BENEFIT BANQUET For Bishop Abramowicz Seminary
The annual benefit dinner for Bishop Abramowicz Seminary will be celebrated at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers, 301 East North Water Street in Chicago, and will include dinner and a silent auction. Cardinal George will be in attendance and will welcome quests. The Bishop Abramowicz Seminary program was established in September 1999, and has annually recruited seminarians in Poland who complete their seminary training at Bishop Abramowicz Seminary program in Chicago and then at Mundelein Seminary.  They serve in parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Chicago.

MUNDELEIN SEMINARY ANNUAL GOLF OUTING AND DINNER
Cardinal George will attend the dinner following the 19th Annual University of St. Mary of the Lake / Mundelein Seminary Golf Outing at Pine Meadow Golf Club, 1000 East Maple Avenue in Mundelein.  During the dinner, Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Rigali, Sr. will receive the Joseph Cardinal Bernardin  “In Service of One Another” Catholic Humanitarian Award, for their dedicated service to the Church, helping to create beautiful church environments through their company, Daprato Rigali Studios.

Cardinal George will be the main celebrant at the 76th Annual Votive Mass of the Holy Spirit, traditionally known as the “Red Mass,” sponsored by the Catholic Lawyers Guild, at Holy Name Cathedral, State and Superior Streets in Chicago.

NATIONAL CONGRESS ON HISPANIC MINISTRY, “ROOTS AND WINGS 2010”

WELCOME AND ADDRESS BY CARDINAL GEORGE
Cardinal George is scheduled to deliver an address to participants at the National Congress on Hispanic Ministry, “Roots and Wings 2010” at the Hyatt Regency Hotel O’Hare, 9300 Bryn Mawr Avenue in Rosemont.  This Congress will bring together groups and individuals who serve Hispanics and the Church throughout the United States.  They in turn, will focus on the five priorities of the Unites States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) as they apply to Hispanic ministry.  These priorities include: Strengthening Marriage, Vocations to Priesthood and Religious Life, Cultural Diversity in the Church, Faith Formation and Sacramental Practice, and Life and Dignity of the Human Person.  The Congress is organized by the National Catholic Council for Hispanic Ministry (NCCHM)

150TH ANNIVERSARY SCHOOL MASS – SAINT PATRICK HIGH SCHOOL
Cardinal George will be the main celebrant at a Mass with the faculty, staff and students of Saint Patrick High School, 5900 West Belmont Avenue in Chicago, in celebration of the school’s 150th anniversary.

BLESSING AND LAYING OF CORNERSTONE FOR THE NEW ST. RAPHAEL CHURCH
Cardinal George will preside during ceremonies to bless and lay the cornerstone of the new church for St. Raphael the Archangel Parish, which will be located at Hwy 45 South near Kelly Road in the Village of Old Mill Creek. Since the summer of 2007, Mass has been celebrated in a renovated barn at 2101 East Illinois Route 173 in Antioch, and an adjacent farmhouse is being used as the parish offices, meeting space and the rectory. The new church will be located on a nearby 40-acre parcel owned by the Archdiocese.  St. Raphael the Archangel Parish is the newest parish in the Archdiocese since 1999 when St. Stephen, Deacon and Martyr was established in Tinley Park.

100TH ANNIVERSARY MASS AND LUNCHEON – HOLY TRINITY HIGH SCHOOL
Cardinal George will be the main celebrant at a Mass with the faculty, staff and students of Holy Trinity High School, 1443 West Division Street in Chicago, in celebration of the school’s 100th anniversary. The Mass will be preceded by a luncheon and there will be a brief reception following.
