THEOLOGY-ON-TAP CELEBRATING “30 YEARS OF CHEERS”
Theology-on-Tap, a speaker and conversation series for people in their 20s and 30s is celebrating 30 years of providing young adults with opportunities to learn more about the Catholic faith.  During this special anniversary year, alumni of TOT are invited to attend a presentation at one of over 40 locations at Archdiocese of Chicago parishes and Newman Centers, and to participate in the closing Mass on August 8 with Cardinal George at Holy Name Cathedral and the picnic that follows.  TOT is presented four evenings per week throughout the month of July and the first full week of August, offering young adults the opportunity to make connections between faith and everyday life, and to engage in conversation with their peers.  Presentations focus on aspects of faith and social life of interest to young adults including: truthful relationships, prayer styles, discerning gifts, friendships and faith in the workplace.

Camp Totus Tuus
Youth entering grades 7-12 in the fall are invited to attend the annual Camp Totus Tuus at Maryville Academy, 1150, North River Road in Des Plaines. The gathering, sponsored by the Vocation Office of the Archdiocese, brings together young people for a day of fun, discussions, prayer, and Mass. Participants will meet with seminarians, priests and religious sisters and learn from outstanding Totus Tuus teachers.  This is an exceptional opportunity for elementary and junior high students to spend some time thinking about what God has in mind for them, now and in the future.

THEOLOGY ON TAP MASS AND PICNIC WITH CARDINAL GEORGE
Cardinal George will be the main celebrant at a Mass with current and past participants in the young adult summer speaker series, Theology-on-Tap, at Holy Name Cathedral, State and Superior Streets in Chicago.  Alumni from 30 years of Theology-on-Tap programs are welcome to attend this event and the picnic that follows at 4:30 p.m. at the Cardinal’s residence.

Totus Tuus Leadership Camp for High School Men
“Men of Honor” is the theme of this year’s Leadership Camp for High School Men, sponsored by the Vocation Offices of Chicago, Joliet, and Rockford, to be held at the Bishop Lane Retreat Center, 7708 E. McGregor Road in Rockford. The camp will include fun, sports, discussion, prayer, daily Mass, Adoration and quiet time for reflection.

CHICAGO CCHD AWARDS EVENT

Fifteen organizations in Chicago will be honored for their work in breaking the cycle of poverty when the Catholic Campaign for Human Development in Chicago awards its annual grants at St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish, 1351 West Evergreen in Chicago.  Most Rev. Francis Kane, Auxiliary Bishop of Chicago, will celebrate Mass at 5 p.m. A buffet dinner will follow and during the awards ceremony Rev. James Moriarty, founder of the Chicago Catholic Campaign for Human Development, will be honored. Reservations are required and a donation of $25 includes awards presentation event and dinner.

“Roots and Wings 2010” is the title of the National Congress on Hispanic Ministry to be held at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare, 9300 Bryn Mawr Avenue in Rosemont.  The National Congress is organized by the National Catholic Council for Hispanic Ministry (NCCHM) in collaboration with the Secretariat of Cultural Diversity in the Church of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB).
