OFFICE FOR HISPANIC CATHOLICS TO CELEBRATE ANNUAL
"NOCHE DE GALA" AWARDS RECOGNITION DINNER
Chicago, IL (July 10, 2009) – Francis Cardinal George, O.M.I., Archbishop of Chicago, will be in attendance when the Office for Hispanic Catholics celebrates the annual “Noche de Gala” awards recognition dinner on Friday, July 24, beginning with a reception at 6:30 p.m., at the Hilton Chicago, 720 S. Michigan Avenue in Chicago.
The theme for “Noche de Gala” this year is “In light of the Second Vatican Council … Transforming the World.” The evening will include an opportunity for Hispanic Ministry to celebrate the accomplishments of its leadership and to acknowledge those who have worked with dedication for the spiritual and social good of the community within the Archdiocese of Chicago.

In recognition of women religious in Hispanic Ministry
Deacon Floro Hita
Maternity B.V.M. Parish
SaintStephen Award
In recognition of a deacon in Hispanic Ministry
Ms. Margarita Garcia
Gaudium et Spes Award
In recognition of lay ministry to Hispanic Ministry
Rev. Gary Riebe-Estrella
Catholic Theological Union
Angelina Marquez Lifetime Dedication Award
In recognition of exceptional service to Hispanic Ministry
Tickets for “Noche de Gala” are $65 per person and $650 for a table of ten. The evening includes dinner, entertainment and dancing. All proceeds from this event will go to support the Office for Hispanic Catholics and the continued support for Hispanic Ministry throughout the Archdiocese of Chicago.
